One of the best sitcoms, ever! The Supermodel episode is really, really lame though, and BORING! I couldn't see the point to it and was a real desperate attempt to spice interest up. It proves what the general idea shows to be true : models are so boring aside from good-looks! They can't act for peanuts! It was almost embarrassing. That aside though, the show did threaten to jump by the fourth season, but it didn't sink. By the final season; it was clear the producers were doing the right thing by ending it. That episode where Sally and Harry try to salvage Tommy's relationship with his pretty girlfriend is soooo LAME! But the entire cast, including Judith, Vincent Strudwick, Nina and even Lucy the cafeteria woman, is brilliant! John Lithgow is first-rate and Joseph Gordon-Levitt - just pure talent!

One of the greatest sitcoms ever made. I don't get everyones problem with it. The humour is brilliantly crazy and characters are the greatest (with the exception of Tommy who had a tendency to suck.
I started watching this show when it aired after Wings, and I thought it was a good guilty pleasure sitcom. It was silly, but it had a lot of laugh out loud moments. It got old after a couple of years though. I stopped watching for good in 1999 when NBC cancelled the far superior NewsRadio and left 3rd Rock on.
The first couple seasons of this show were the strongest. After that, it went downhill, but I don't think it ever jumped the shark. It probably would have if it'd lasted another one or two seasons, though.
this show was so great. i still clearly remember sally screaming "I'm LEAKING!" the first time she cries.i think it is underrated.
I HAD to stop watching it when I realised the second season had become the Dick and Mary show. The first went out on an extremely funny line "I've become a mime!" and so, I looked forward to the next series and seeing the characters really come into their own. But continually exploring the couple's relationship dynamics and highlighting their foibles left little room for the other characters. Dick morphed rather quickly into Lame TV Male with the usual insecurities and ego tripping. Mary had to be the wordy, also insecure, impatient, unsmiling female. All very well played though, and very humorous. For a time.
