I remember the first time I saw this piece of crap, I was like, wtf? As one of the bloggers said, what an ugly turd! Also, a word to homo boy that went off on a rant about how Blossom was okay and guys are so shallow, we know HE has'nt ever been with a WOMAN!

I never found this show to be plausible. Blossom was far too ugly and didn't have a nice body -- yet she always landed the cool guys. Give me a break. Blossom would have been hanging with the band geeks in a real high school. And beyond that the show was just plain boring.

The only reason for watching this dreck was Jenna Von Oy. What total bilge. The boozehound rehabbed brother is the lamest cliche on television.

This show was way ahead of its time. Think about it. It dealt with rape, alcoholism and teen pregnancy - among other taboo topics - and it was a sitcom! In the early 90's, no less! Ted Wass was great as the dad holding everyone together and even though Blossom was the star, Joey Lawrence's character of "Joey" (there's a stretch) stole every scene he was in. It was definitely a show that teenagers could relate to with the topical material. Almost a sitcom version of 90210.

I thought this was a pretty good show. But I must say that Joey was nerve-racking, and Vinnie was as well. I thought Blossom was kinda cute, you know, in that nice-girl kind of way.

This show was fine when it focused on the title character; her two loser brothers were unnecessary additions and highly annoying. Between Anthony's constant references to his "problem"and Joey Lawrence's stupid trademark "WHOA" catchphrase,it's no wonder that Blossom wore funky clothes and was smart,funny,and musically talented(so much for the powers-that-be who think off-key singing and bad instrument-playing a la the Cosby kids is cute!)-she had to be the keeper of the brain and the talent in that family! The shark-jump moment for me was really the episode where Shelly and Anthony have their baby and name it Nash Metropolitan,after the vintage car he was born in! Stupid,stupid,stupid!!!

I never watched this show because I didn't have a TV at that time and I don't watch sitcoms anyway. For a number of reasons, I've now seen the opening sequence and a few clips here and there.

First of all, the theme song is great. That's the incomparable Dr. John on the keys and it's a perfect song. Mayim Bialik's dancing is wonderful. Anyone who would see her as "rhythmless" is blind. She obviously had dancing experience and training. And the girl really has something, you can see it in her face. She's not a typical beauty, but she has a verve, something to her that's very appealing.

To her credit, Ms. Bialik is now a neurosurgeon. Good for her. No hanging around, going to oldies conventions, waiting for her "comeback."

The kid had a beautiful smile and a big heart. Give her some credit.

Blossom was a cute show that was original in the sense that the lead character wasn't conventionally pretty and she wasn't a ditz. She was a smart girl who didn't act stupid and had some morals. Great concept. I can't pinpoint the moment it jumped but, it stayed on too long. If you have to bring in a little kid (with a fake English accent no less!), it's time to pack it in.

One episode that comes to mind was when Tony was celebrating 2 years of sobriety and then drank a bottle of vodka. After being kicked out of the house, Vinne tells Nick Russo that he fell off the wagon after 2 years of sobriety, 3 years ago, which means that Vinne began drinking at age 12!! Give me a break! Why does every tv teen rebel have to have an addict past? I like this plot better when it was Dylan McKay pounding the scotch!

Blossom jumped the shark when Blossom started going with Vinnie.

Blossom never jumped. Every episode was "very special" but unlike other shows that did "very special" episodes, Blossom actually did them quite well.

It is a shame this series is not in syndication. It should be...

'Blossom' never jumped. Every episode was good. Would've loved to see her play her trumpet more. The only extended time we got of that was when she played taps to 'cheer herself up.' Incidentally, her first choice of an instrument was trombone, but her arms were too short. I'll bet Mayim's arms are long enough now, to where she COULD try the trombone. Mayim, feel free to write in and let us know if you've done that.

Agreed with so many here -- the preachy nature of the show with no nuance, no grey area, had it jumping at episode 1. comments: Regarding this whole "looks" debate. Can people stop being defensive long enough to realize that commentators were not saying that the show was bad simply because Blossom was ugly? They were making a point about *realism* (getting all those hot guys). I suppose those unhappy with these comments wouldn't mind a show about a homely geeky boy who gets and constantly ditches the best looking girls in school? I know that tv is supposed to serve as wish-fulfillment for some, but *come on*...
