I have to agree with PAF; the revelation that Rebecca is NOT William's daughter had me rolling my eyes, thinking the show had gone from entertaining soapy fun to Dallas dream-era ridiculousness. I'll probably still watch it, but less enthralled.
PAF, don't give the writers any more crazy ideas for plot lines, PLEASE!
Nora fools around on William. Turns out Justin is not William's son. Justin and Rebecca can be together, after all. YAY!
But wait!! Turns out that the man Nora had the affair with is Rebecca's father, too! Oooh nooo!!

Pains me to say this because I really liked this show but the whole Rebecca isn't a Walker and now there is another Walker sibling out there somewhere is a JTS moment. WTF, after all the build up, now its not true, and Holly is the villian although if memory serves me correctly she told everyone including Rebecca that she wasn't a Walker, but it was Sarah who went around saying that Rebecca was, I hated that scene when Rebecca got all holier then thou with Holly stating how she deceived all of them, it was like say what, you were the one who instigated all of it not Holly, I was glad that TPTB rectified part of this by having Thomas throw it in Sarah's sanctamoneous face that she was the one who started all of this. But as for the whole de-Walkering of Rebecca, why did it have to happen, I know so that she and Justin could get together, but what about another twist, what if it came out that Justin wasn't really a Walker, that Nora due to being neglected and left alone by William so much had an affair herself, and the truth comes out, this would of led to a more shocking twist then William who apparently had a Mistress for every day of the week has yet another kid. At least with this scenario we wouldn't have to worry about yet another long lost Walker sibling showing up. But back to Sarah what is with this woman seriously, she didn't cause enough trouble with Rebecca now she has to cause some with this Ryan crap, wasn't it better to just leave well enough alone, oh wait this is Sarah Holier then thou buttinski I'm talking about, of course she can't leave it alone, but rest assure when it all blows up she try to blame it on someone else. Yes I can't stand that chracter can you tell.
Too, too many plot twists. And you can see them coming a mile away.
As BJ below said: Rebecca shows up; she and Justin kinda falling for each other; then she's his sister; then maybe not. Justin on drugs; off drugs; on drugs. Sarah going to have sex after the wedding they crashed, but didn't because the key card wouldn't work. WRONG DOOR! Wow, can you say "telegraphed"? Saul's gay? Not gay. Gay? etc., etc., ad infinitum..........
Liked this show much more at the start; getting harder to watch, now.

They introduced Rebecca as the unknown Walker sibling. I thought that was a good plot line. Now (supposedly because the writers saw some chemistry between Rebecca and Justin) Rebecca is NOT a Walker after all. NOW there is a male unknown Walker sibling whose name also begins with "R." This is too much! JUMP THE SHARK!
This show jumped from the day it arrived on ABC. Every episode consists of two different family members bickering and bitching over a different matter. Not to mention the fact that pretty much anything with Calista Flockhart in it is unwatchable. In fact, this shows only saving grace is Sally Field, and a little bit of Rachel Griffiths.
Brothers & Sisters is a great show.
As someone who comes from a family very simular to that (in it's size, same amount of sibilings), its great to watch a show you can so easily relate to. Reading what some of you have written on here its a shame u cant get past your loathings to enjoy an awsome hour of tv. When you come from a family so big it's so hard to keep a secret- its nice to see that they have portrayed this on tv. Also for all you homophobes (Gerda Diersen and others) Gay people do exist in real life and do show up in large families like this..... so get over it. It's nice to see more gay love on tv!!!

Jumped mid-way through the 1st season. The show was supposed to be about a family where half were conservative and half were liberal. This was the basis for some incredible scenes in the early episodes. Flockhart's character was the first strong conservative voice that's been on tv in years.
But after a few months, all the conservatives started speaking in a liberal voice. No more political debates. All the tension started coming from stupid situations. Now, this show looks and sounds like every other show on tv. A real shame.

This show is a complete copy of Six Feet Under, even with the same actress.
The father dies in the first episode, the mother falls in love again. One son is gay, the other isn't mentally stable and can't keep a steady job but likes to sleep around. The family business is falling apart and the need to sell. AH! Get some new story lines people!

An earlier poster mentioned the casting of Rob Lowe ruining the show. I couldn't agree more. This low-life molested a 13-year-old girl and even videotaped it and was rewarded with more TV and movie roles and is still working today.
Hooray for Hollywood.
Hooray for Hollywood.
I stopped watching this show-it is ridiculous. How is it that no one keep a secret about anything..but the father managed to keep a 17 year affair secret?
Sally Field is brilliant, and I even like Callista as her daughter . . . But no-one else really stands out at present, though that may change.
More so, doesn't it seem that this show has too many characters in it? It's worse than 'Firefly'. ( In case you can't tell, Marge, I'm being sarcastic )

I think the show is going to start going down now because of the chemistry between the youngest son and his half sister...apparently they are dating in real life, and no wonder...they have incredible chemistry...it's sooo gross man, its really uncomfortable to watch...and why they are writing crap in like her being jelous of his girlfriend is unimaginable....recast please!!!
I decided not to watch Brothers & Sisters anymore because they cast Rob Lowe. I can't stand watching Rob Lowe. Although I do like Sally Field which was my main reason for watching since Episode 1 and I would have liked to have seen Treat Williams too, but any program with Rob Lowe in it is the end of that show for me.
