I hate all shows that just want to exploit anyone who really does not deserve it! I'm sick of seeing people treated the way these actors and actresses get treated! It makes me sick! If I had people up in my face 24/7 then you bet i would not be liked by the public because i would be bashing stupid idiots in the face! i think sean penn was awesome when he knocked the dude in the face! dumbass deserved it! I think all these papparazzi should be all put in a room and shot! either that or i wish that there would be a show that exposes the papparrazzis personal lives and that they are followed daily! that would be fun for me to watch!
BOTR,
I'd agree with you except how could ET's reps be ruined? They're already shallow +pandering defined! And if sincerity was napalm, the entire crew wouldn't have enough to light a match!

Here's a shark jump for you: ET refuses to retract their top story on the May 30th show, which was about the birth of the Brangelina twins; they want to see how the story "plays out" before they make a retraction. In other words, they refuse to admit that they made a mistake in reporting a false story. I hope that this story ruins their reputation forever.
It jumped when the show simply became tired and about a million other "entertainment news" shows or Internet sites came around. As inspid and ridiculous as this show is, I give it some credit for being more respectable to the celebs than, say, TMZ. Not that the some of the celebs are all that deserving of respect but I don't think any of them deserved to stalked. Is it just me or has anyone out there ever wondered what drug they give the correspondents on "ET" to make them so dang happy? How does Mary Hart year and after manage to act so excited about, I dunno, some upcoming hot interview? It's one of those shows that's played an important factor in reducing my tv viewing habits forever...
I love the posts from people who indignantly note that ET has "stopped being entertainment news and become nothing but a commercial..." HELLO, that's what it ALWAYS was...free publicity. What on earth do you think "entertainment news" is?
ET jumped when I turned 10...and outgrew the mental age of the show's intended audience.

If the only show you were able to watch on TV was Entertainment Tonight, you would think that the only networks that existed are ABC and CBS. They never mention any shows that are on NBC or the CW and the only FOX show that gets mentioned is the rating juggernaut American Idol; other than that it's all about the ABC/CBS shows and nothing else. I suspect that it's because NBC and the CW don't have high-rated shows like ABC and CBS do.
I grew really tired of Entertainment Tonght with the constant showing of Donnie and Marie and their cheese eating grins .They are practically co-host. Why are they on the show so much?
quote: "Am I the only one who is sick and tired of Kojo?"
No you are not, everyone I speak to hates him/her/it !!!!!!
he/she/it is disgusting!
What a super freak, it should be removed from our TV screens.

I don't mind the fluff of ET. In fact, I enjoy that it's an escape from the daily news. IMO the ET JTS moments occurred when they blurred the line between entertainment and tabloid sensationalism.
This occurred a few years ago with their coverage of the Mary Kay Letourneau wedding. Mary Kay Letourneau is a former teacher famous(notorious) for her affair with a teenage student. This was a disgusting story and didn't merit a second of coverage.
Also the ET coverage ad nauseum of the Jennifer Wilbanks (runaway bride) story gave that woman more attention than she merited. I just wanted her off my television.
With these moments, ET jump from an entertainment news program into the shark tank of tabloid sensationalism.

I couldn't believe Cojo named Jennifer Hudson's dress the worst when
there were others way worse than hers.
Maybe she ticked him off. He also ignored Heidi Klum. She was absolutely stunning. He is irritating and has dubious taste to say the least. I agree with everything the other posters have to say about this played out show. Larry Birkhead should never want his daughter in front of a camera, the Hollywood lifestyle is what killed her mother.

I couldn't be more tired of this show. I've watched it my entire life, and I remember when it was entertaining and it covered entertainment. Now it's just a collage of crap. I've had it with them trying to fool us into thinking they've found a story, only to find out it's nothing.
Is Halle is labor? Rumor! We just needed an excuse to show you the newest photo the paparazzi took.
Is Dannielynn going blind? No, she just has strabismus. It's a crossing eye. Not a big deal, but we're going to spend a week pimping an interview with Larry Birkhead, in which we get to the bottom of it. And then we're going to spend another week actually talking about the condition itself because Larry just loves to whore out his daughter.
After the break, M&Ms interview Nicolas Cage.
And stay tuned for The Insider! It's just 17 minutes away. It's the exact same show you're watching now, but with different hosts, including Pat 'God, you're so frickin hot' O'Brien. We know you won't want to miss it.

E.T. lost the little remaining respect I had for them on January 22nd. They could've aired a special on Heath Ledger's death, a la Anna Nicole's death last February--BUT! Instead, they make NO mention of him WHATSOEVER on the show and air pointless interviews with Brit's crazy boyfriend and Donnie Osmond, who has truly been milking every ounce of publicity his sister's been getting since DWTS. Did they not feel Heath was high-profile enough to talk about? or that he didn't have the same ties with E.T. that Anna Nicole did? That is truly petty and pathetic. They can't claim that they found out about his death too late; they new about it local time (they film in NY where he died) and had hours to prepare a story, as they did with Anna. I'm not badmouthing Anna Nicole in any way--I just feel E.T. plays favorites when it comes to special coverage and tends to excessively report on overexposed celebrities such as Britney. R.I.P. Heath Ledger...
This show is absolute garbage as far as I'm concerned. It jumped the shark several years ago once they stop being a Entertainment News show and dedicate most of the show either to J-lo and Ben, Brad Pitt and Jen A., Micheal and Catherine, etc. Last year they stooped to an all time low with 11 plus months of Anna Nicole/Her PERFECTLY normal daughter Dannielyn. Coverage or The Osmonds. Earlier this week they had to suffer through 5 minutes of "Excuslive" coverage of Danny's eye scare. Don't get me started about the worthless trio of Paris, Britney, and Lindsey. Thank god I avoid that stuff 98 percent of the time. This show is perfect TV for anyone with an IQ of 70 or less.
When it became the marie osmond show, but I see that has been said already. To the poster about ET's early years: your right, they modeled it after PM magazine, anyone remember that show? They were called "newsmagazines" then. Great show. Really, the 70s and early 80s were so much of a better time to live in every way, before journalism sunk to the depths that it did.
