I always kind of enjoyed this program. I thought it was cute!!!
I don't really have like an all time favorite episode. but I thought it was funny when Tim would screw up Wilson's advice.
and the kids were cute too.

The show was always great. Yes do like the episodes before Jill went back to school better, but it was still god whenever she did. And I agree with the person who said that the way everyones mannerisms change does reduce the quality. Tim does get stupider, Randy becomes a liberal, Mark goes goth, Brad is a jock (which we could all see coming)and Jill becomes a little bit more of a nag. But doesnt everyone change like that in real life with time anyway? Its just another thing that shows how this show is life-like.
Ronnie - I have seen several posts from you regarding guys wearing/not wearing shirts to bed. Interesting that. Is there some issue to explore there? lol Actually, there was one episode where Tim is talking to JTT while he (JTT) is bed shirtless. As Tim leaves the room, he snaps at JTT to put on a shirt.
SLJD, i love the alternate series ending idea about Wilson! Sounds like YOU need to do some screenwriting!
The show started to go down hill when Jill started going back to school. The more air time they wasted trying to turn her into an intellectual nag from hell, the worse it got. She got greedy for more money and air time...typical feminist. They might have saved the show with something radical for the final season, like killing her off and having Tim and Al become lovers...or something crazy to make people say "WOW!"
Totally unrelated to JTS...I think that the very last episode should've revealed that Wilson never really existed. It would've been thought provoking (and creepy) if he was simply a figment of Tim's imagination to help himself solve problems. (That would only have worked if they thought of it in the beginning and showed no one else talking to wilson the entire run of the show, though.)

Home Improvement was a great show in its first few seasons. But as the show progressed through its final three seasons, the main characters changed in very unappealing ways. Tim became very stupid and often acted child-like, Jill became an annoying feminist, Brad became an irresponsible jock doofus, Randy lost his sense of humor and became a liberal, and Mark became a brooding goth. Two of the worst episodes of the entire series showcased these extreme character changes-- If you want examples of how unfunny Home Improvement became, check out the episodes 'Losing My Religion' and 'Home Alone'.
JTT defied the puberty odds big time! No matter what age or what role he is in, he is totally HAWT! The oldest boy did alright too - never was as pretty at JTT but did have some handsome qualities. The youngest, however, not the case. He went from being a cute little moppet into a flat and unattractive dullard. The only character I did not like was Tim - he personified the self-centered, shallow, jerkiness of some men. Fortunately, most men are not like him! Thank goodness! I just hope they don't think they are supposed to be.
This is probably my favourite sitcom- sure, the show changed a lot when the kids hit puberty, but I think the change was at least better done than in most shows.
I do hate that 'Brad is smoking pot' episode though, it just felt like they were pushing their luck.

Just another example of a show that jumped when the kids hit puberty. If you are going to have kids on a show they need to be very young or have already hit puberty on the first episode. They always go from cute to whiny otherwise.
This wasn't the best show around but it was still good. I only watched for a few seasons then stopped just before the last couple seasons. I wouldn't say it jumped the shark but it wasn't something that I could say was a show that I found to be the best around. I didn't like the whole idea of the stories that the boys had to through in the later seasons (Drugs, sex, health problems, etc).
