They take every single friday off. On top of that, virtually every single federal holiday results in a week vacation or 2 weeks as is the case for the 4th of July. Don't forget the 2-3 weeks off at the end of every year.

The show just doesn't pick up rhythm. Between only working 4 days a week and 2+ months of vacation on top of that its hard to get into the habit of listening and just when you do, bammmm, its another week off for April Fools' day.
The show seems to be getting tired and Howard is losing his edge and sucking up to celebrities a lot more than he used to and being more careful about what he says.
Too much emphasis on gay stuff and excrement references for cheap laughs. Seems that whenever they run low on material, they use Eric the Midget as fodder. Seems like they used to be funnier before the move to satellite where they had to be more creative in lieu of cheap potty antics, sex and other stuff that is just gross and not funny at all. A few gems here and there but not lately more hits than misses.
I can only handle about an hour of the show per week these days. Seems like every time I turn to Howard 100 they're in another of their extended 20-minute commercial/old-bit/Led Zeppelin breaks...or is it up to 25 minutes now? That coupled with another HowardTV plug every five minutes (your $12.95/month for Sirius just isn't enough apparently) is beyond tedious.
Howard is too rich now and out of touch with his fans. All he has to share is going to Nobu and then talk about Dancing with the Stars. He relies on the rest of the cast to share their lives and they're getting old as well, so they're simply not doing anything worth hearing about anymore. Hearing about Sal and Richard's gay antics became unfunny the first year on Sirius.
The phony phone calls got old over a year ago and having yet another wack-packer call in and talk about nothing is just over.
Yes, the die-hard fans would listen to him if he were on only one minute per day and that's fine...Howard and his wallet love you for it.
I just submited a new reason for the show jumping the shark. Too much of the Wack Pack being focused. Does Eric The Midget have to been on every other day? He needs to get a life.

Also, what happened to the celebrity friends of the show that called in??
I was looking at a list on Wikiepia of friends of the show. Excluding, the ones that are dead(Anna Nicole Smith,JFK JR etc.) Why dont the suppose friends of show call in anymore.
Just wondering if anyone else has been bored by the show? There are very few bits nowadays. I don't blame him, but I think he commits very little energy to the show now. It's only about him waking up and rolling into the studio, not about being creative and coming up with real ideas. When was the last time he put on a beret and smock and painted with Fred and Jackie b/c it was funny? And that wasn't even on the air but after the show and in the office. He hasn't written even a five-minute bit for the last 2-3 years (remember the Billy West years?? or Fred playing Waldheim??) and he gets very few interesting guests now. P.S. Why does Howard refer to other men's privates as their "c*ck?" Seems very strange. Maybe he thinks it's cool but it is very weird. When my contract is up, I'm done -- anyone else feel this way?
Howard Stern has always been a up and down kind of entertainer for me. I loved the Cabbie fighting John shows 7 years ago. I loved it when he had Hank the Angry Dwarf on. But Howard also can get boring. And so can Artie. I haven't listened since he moved to Sirius for 100 million but I'm thinking about it.
Howard has without a doubt jumped the shark.

Howard's peak was from 1989- till when John left. I think when John left (maybe 2004 or 2005). Since John left Howard, has been unable to fill his shoes.

Artie, filling Jackie's shoes was an improvement.

Also, the move to satelitte, let losers like JD, Jason Kaplan, Scott DePace, etc. get more playing time than they deserve, they are 3 unfunny guys who need to not be on the air period.

Howard, puts down Benjy who deserves more PT. Hire Bob Levy, or Billy Marra, those are funny everday guys that Howard could use.

Also Howard, needs to get Pam Anderson, and other hot famous women on the show. since he left E that has been a huge problem.

Also do a Howard TV special starring the legend "Pat Cooper", the man is great.

Howard was funnier, now he has become very-Upper West Side/Summer in the Hamptons Liberal, having Rosie O'Donnell on come on....

The old Howard was great. Howard is still a great "interviewer", its a shame he can't get the good celebrities on.

Also Howard is better angry, than he is now, very soft....

Will I still watch him on HTv and radio yes, is it getting tougher, yes.

Like the Movies of 21st century and HBO, HStern has jumped the shark.
Does Howard seriously believe for one minute that Beth would pay him any mind if it wasn't for all his money? It brings me great joy to know that she is just using his ugly ass.
There are no crazies who call the show any longer - since they're subscribers, they're sycophants. And Howard sure loves that Eric the Midget, doesn't he?
When Jon Hein came on board.
I think Howard jumped when he went from self-deprecating to a "stud". Hair, makeup, who he could lay, hiring Ralph as his fashion consultant. He was good when he basically said "I suck, but everyone does, including celebs". Once he became a wannabe ladies man himself, he lost his everyman angle.
Here's the answer to making Howard better. Satellite needs to hire The Greaseman. I've listened to Grease and Howard since 1982...college in DC and summers in NJ. I'm a huge Howard fan...listen every day. But....if you're a fan of Radio...listen to The Greaseman. DC-101...streamed on the internet also. Put 'em both on satellite and watch them raise radio entertainment to the next level. Or...Howard will buy Grease like he did Bubba. Squelching the competition to facilitate his early retirement...

The true radio guys will prevail if given a balcony to sjout from...Howard, Greaseman, Bubba, Ferrell
Howard was cool back in days when he invoked my unconscious racial fears and stereotypes with his tales of being beaten up in high school, not to mention his attacks on Big Al Sharpton. Sadly, he has become another old rich white guy tapping a "super model". Of course, she loves him because he's such a cool guy (not because he inked that $500 Mill contract).

It's sad when the heroes sell out. But they always do, don't they. Does that mean he was never a hero, really?

Anyway, let's bury that dog. It's dead. Who's the next Radio Hero? Is there anyone out there?
i have to say ,it would be a little refreshing if they could be a little more honest when promoting things.........artie's movie was an absolute ass nugget and this play that he said was fantastic with his former co-star mary mccormick is pretty butt also ,the post and news killed it in its reveiews ,i mean c'mon bro ,just be honest with us we'll still be here
This show jumped about a year ago. When Howie became a NY socialite. I can't wait for This to end & The Artie Lange Show Starts.
Today Howbeth is saying how good CINDY ADAMS LOOKS!!!
It's over now.
