I don't think this show can ever jump as long as it keeps doing what it's doing...I do, however, remember at least one or two episodes where they strayed just a bit (only a bit) overboard into some of the main character's personal lives...big jump categories are: 1)clean kitchens 2) guys who sleep with a shirt on (unrealistic)....
Corey you obviously have an issue with woman who take control. Olivia isnt a man hating "bitch" as you like to put it. Shes just an Independent woman who wont take crap from a man simply becuase he's a man. plus She's a cop for petes sake. OH btw do you have any proof to justify it? or shall i say "do you have any proof to justify your aligation?" ha i sound like a cop heh..
I completely agree with the previous poster. There are too many gay stories. You would think every man is a closet case.
Show officially 'jumped' on last episode, July 10, 2008. Choosing once again to 'moralize' on the subject of homophobia (a favorite subject for Dick Wolf) We have the following take place:
After a gay pro qb is tried and convicted of killing his male lover, the qb's agent makes an offhanded remark on camera to his new qb talent about 'not kissing your boyfriend in the bathroom.'
Crack (head) detectives Elliot and Liv hear the remark and realize that the agent could only have known about the kiss from witnessing it and, hence, knowing the qb was 'gay' although denying the knowledge earlier.
Bottom line: With everything to lose and nothing to gain what-so-ever, the agent throws it all away without even asking for a L A W Y E R when he...unbelievably...breaks down and confesses to killing the qb's lover himself!
Apparently the man was so psychotic (as, of course, all homophobes in Dick Wolf's universe are!) in his gay-hatred that breaking down and confessing to killig a 'queer' is worth losing millions of dollars and lifetime freedom for. Again...without even asking for a lawyer (aren't agents lawyers themselves?) being present during questioning.
From now on, if I want a more realistic police drama to watch, I'll opt for old cartoon reruns of Dick Tracy overy this crap!

I agree a fin showed when Lake jumped off the deep end and killed the cop who set him up. His behavior was so extreme that it seemed he was suffering from some kind of mental illness. I could understand it if he had a personal relationship with the girl who was raped, but apparently he didn't. As for Ice-T, he has grown as a person. I saw him do an interview, and he said he was wrong about cops because it's easy to bash them until you need to call one for help. I like Diane Neal as Casey, but she's a tomboy trying to be glam. The garish bubble gum pink lipstick and blue eyeshadow is so distracting that when she's on the screen, I can hardly focus on what she's saying. Also, her haircolor is like an orange-yellow crayon. If she went natural, she'd look a lot better. I said I'd give up on this show, but occasionally I cave in and watch again.
Guest at 11:44 on Jun 27, either you're Stephi under another name or you're just as lame as she is. And neither or you have a clue. WTF made a valid point. Stephi and you need to find another website. Stephi wrote "This should be only for people who love the show to talk about it and the story lines and such, not mean spirited bashing." And you think she understands what jump the shark means? You both need to join a Law and Order fan club. There you can post all the love and roses you want and leave the rest of us alone.

She was obviously outraged by the comments people wrote.when she wrote "This should be only for people who love the show to talk about it and the story lines and such, not mean spirited bashing." i bet she figured Since people are bashing the show and Not Talking about the "shark jumping" Then they might as well apreciate rather than Bash it.
SVU was iffy from the beginning but it truly jumped the shark when Ice "Cop Killer" T joined the cast. Obviously the producers either didn't care, were too stupid or just wanted to thumb their nose at the police (the REAL police) when they hired him to play a cop. Yet I'm sure if they were ever assaulted they'd be begging for one to show up. Typical of sheltered Hollywood libs.
And Guest at Jun 27, 2008 11:44 PM re the post by Stephi: Nice try, but no cigar. When she writes "This should be only for people who love the show to talk about it and the story lines and such, not mean spirited bashing" and, even worse "You should be banned from posting here. You should be in jail like all the racists!" it's pretty well clear that she does not just want us to play nice. If you're calling for people´s heads for just expressing an opinion about a TV show then you are seriously unhinged. Calling people racists? C'mon.

Still like the acting, especially Ice T as Finn, but the plot lines are getting too outlandish, like when Robin Williams was going to blow up Olivia and he faked it.
Or Stabler goes blind. If I wanted to watch 1970s melodrama, I'd watch a rerun of Chaarlies Angels or the Mod Squad
The dad/vs son episode with Steven Collins in it was SVU at its best.

I bet she Understands perfectly fine what "jump the shark" is. Now All She's trying to get across is that if you truly believe SVU jumped the shark you can always state your beliefs in a NICE and Mature way. Plus she's right, theres more bashing then there are people explaining why they believe svu has"Jumped the shark". So seriously if your going to Talk about this site Being for those who only talk about svu jumping the shark, then Look again becuase half these comments have to do with why people "Hate" the show which BTW has nothing to do with jumping the shark...so Before you go on and embarras yourself like that again read around =]
Stephi, Do you have any idea what website you're on. You obviously don't have a clue what jump the shark mean. If you're looking for a website that is "only for people who love the show to talk about it and the story lines and such, not mean spirited bashing." as you put it, you need to keep looking. This ain't it!!!
