HOW COULD MLP JUMP? I am one of its biggest (low-end) teenage fans. I've seen every episode over and over again and to tell you the truth, the only episode I disliked was The Golden Horseshoes, but maybe that is because I can't stand Mimic and her fake personality.
I own a good chunk of the ponies who appeared as well, such as Buttons, Shady, Galaxy, Baby Heart Throb, Morning Glory, Baby Lickety-Split, Baby Lofty, Steamer, Baby Fifi, and so on. After you see them in person, you can't hate them anymore! And in regards to the person who posted before me, the new series is NOT DRAWN HORRIBLY and even though the plots are moderately weak, there are some lovable characters in there such as Rainbow Dash, Whistle Wishes, Star Catcher, Sweetberry, Twinkle Twirl, and Rarity.

It jumped with the new series. The new series cannot compare to the old 80's cartoon. The new series... UGH. No villains, weak plots... (oh no, this pony's getting too many presents for her birthday! Oh no, I broke a Christmas ornament! Oh no, I'm gonna' mess up on this dance competition!) Plus, the art looks awful. As cheesy as they were, I loved the old villians, like the eval goat, evil centaur, the evil witchs, the Smooze, etc. Little girls growing up on the new series will grow up to be wimps. Parents, do your kids a favor and let them watch the old 80's cartoon that I grew up on.
Oh my goodness. This show never jumped the shark--it was, for its time, and still today, a wonderful show that taught more than today's shows could hope to achieve. I've only watched the episodes through internet downloads, but I can tell you that My Little Pony never--I repeat, never jumped the shark.

This show never jumped.I owned three boxful of those ponies and was one of my favorite 80s toy and cartoon.
How could this show jump? It was a show about positive things, that never becomes bad (but it's never going to be the greatest show on TV either). I loved this show when I was younger, and I used to wake my little sister up at 6am every Saturday so we could watch it together. We had tons of the 'My Little Pony' dolls, and we would play with them for hours. I even loved the singing, and when we played 'My Little Pony' with our dolls we'd make up songs and have them sing. Too bad we were both terrible at it, but I'm glad I was a child of the '80's so I could experience this show instead of the violent and/or truely bad cartoons of today.
The show never jumped (well, the original TV version anyway). I might have seen only four or five episodes of it, but it was a very good kids' show for the 1980s. I do have to admit, however, that the movie that they released in 1986 was, if I can put it to MLP music: "My Little Pony, My Little Pony, / One of the worst of '86, / Useless and phony, Big waste of Tony, / God bless deVito and his licks / Music appalling, dialogue galling, / Adding machine for a heart, / Terrible drawing, totally boring, / Can't tell the ponies apart. / I just can't (pause) tell them apart.
Before I comment, I recall watching this show for the first time on my FOX station before the age of the boy bands! Since I turned into a fan of Britney and mandy, my dreams reflect on this show! The show was pretty. The theme was very spiritual and I would love to see it again. Even my girlfriend loves this show!
I remember the alternate theme song my friends and I coined at the time... "MY LITTLE PONY, SO UGLY AND PHONY, I WISH THEY'D MAKE A BETTER ONE!"
it never did to me. but it might of to others unless it showed porn it never did. its a children show and i know lots of little girls who liked it. i for 1 was 1 of them but of course i watched batman and the turtles but i now watch pokemon and digimon so they aint bad neither but maybe i just got bad taste.
i am unsure what the heck this is but i was looking up my little ponies and saw that someone had commented badly on the early 90s show and frankly i don't know how anyone could, 80s cartoons were and are the best. they raised kids better than any show today, better than 'undressed' on mtv and other such sleaze. the care bears and all that was as positive as entertainment can or will ever get and im sure i sound like an old hag but im an 80s child...18 years old. i love my singing ponies in all their ecstasy-like cheer. give me dancing pink rainbows over battling pikachus any day.
