Although I liked the show better with Kyle, it never jumped, in my opinion.

i think Living Single was a great show and wish they would release ALL of the seasons on DVD! what's the holdup?

the show sucked from the begining

When Kadisha and Max became bffs. I liked the early seasons where Max was shown as the annoying neighbor. But at some point, Kadisha decided Max could do no wrong. I hated Max and wanted all of them to slam the door in her face and change the locks.

It was the Golden Girls done with young black chicks. The mean one, the bossy one , the trampie one and the dumb one. It was funnier than the golden girls because the actors were younger and sharper, but equally formulaic.

I started watching this show when I was in the army and stationed in Germany. I had three black roommates and it was on on Fridays over there. I thought it was a good show. When I got back to the States I watched this instead of Friends. This show had more substance. The characters were more likeable.

When the expected you to believe Queen LATIFAH WAS A STRAIGHT WOMAN.

I don't think that Living Single had a chance to jump the shark because of its cast and story line. It was a wonderful African-American sitcom that actually showed how women deal with their everyday lives. From friendships to relationships into sex they dealt with them all. It was weird at first to actually see Little Tootie Ramsey from The Facts Of life to have grown up, and then when she started talking i relaized that this was a totally different show. Queen Latifah did an amazing job as Khadijah who i say was the leader of the pack. Not only did she prove that she was a good actress but that Big women are beautiful. Erika was amazing as Max. She went from Dorky on the Cosby Show into adulthood something anyone would be happy to see. I think the only time I hated a episode was possibly when Oby and Synclaire left but it got better once they moved back and everything was good.
Just because this show reminds others of other shows out at this moment or maybe a year or two ago doesn't mean anything. You can't compare the characters or storyline because if you really think about it those shows copied off of Living Single. I read somewhere where they said this show was the black Friends, thats funny because Living Single was out before Friends. if anything Friends is the white Living Single.
So no Living Single never jumped the shark.

The Only thing I liked about this show was the Theme Song (Love a good harmony), everything else was just an ordinary sitcom.

Wow thanks for this, I never knew what happened with that last season. I remember Ragine getting engaged to that sexy guy and of course Synclair and Overton getting married, I remember the whole issue with Max and Kyle splitting up and him going away, but I swear watching the re-runs I always thought I missed something in between because at the time I had went to college and stopped watching so I didn't really know what happened. I don't think it sank after Synclare and Overton got married I just think they should have let it go after that. They should have allowed them to get married, Ragine to find her Mr. Right that season, and Kyle to stay and he and Max get together as well as Scotter should have returned and it should have ended at that. It would have been perfect because by that time they would not have been "Living Single" anymore, but instead they would have all grown and found love and been in relationships. I remember how they wrote the guy from "soul food" in as a roommate because synclare moved out, but that just messed it up for me. Then after that episode I never saw ragine again. I didn't like the last season at all it was ragady and not put together well at all. I feel like that far out if they were going to cancel they should have let it where the 4th season left off. I love the show though and you can purchase the first season DVD from Best Buy I don't know about any season after that though.

No. The women in Girlfriends are thin and attractive.

Personaly that was the best show I have ever seen even in the last days when max had gotten pregant with with kyle's baby but what I hated about the show was when they didn't continue it so we could see what happen because this was the perfect show to tell black people that they don't have to act stupid just to be on tv so this show gets a millon kudus from me but the one person I really had a problem with was

Cause I sounds like a girls name and they just stuck any name on him and brought him in the show because he begged to be in it lol
And there is only one question I have and if max could answer I would ask were those dreds or braids because I could never tell

What pissed me off the most was the comparison to Friends. They call this show "The Black Version of Friends", when in reality it came out a full season before.

I agree with who knows. Joan is bossy but nobody is scared of her. Lynn is slutty but not stuck up. Toni and Mya are both smartmouth.

What about "Girlfriends". they also have 4 girls.
The only thing is that they don't fit the bossy, vain, airhead, and smartmouth category.
