natalie wouldn't have had her parents bail her out of anything in the beginning of her time on the show. her relationship with them was strained because of their disapproval,or her perception of it, of her husband mitch. their picture was not on the piano in her family home, however at the end of her brothers wedding episode she confronted her mother and she moved the picture to thepiano thereby mending the rift. also, sharona sucked, she was nasally, obnoxious, borderline slutty and disrespectful of her boss, yes he could probably be very hard to work for, but he was still her boss, and she eventually did what anyone else would do in a situation wher theboss was so intolerable, she quit.thank goodness.
Natalie refers to Monk as Mr, because you she is the assistant. Assistants normally call their boss Mr.
Did anyone notice how Natalie, at the first, was a poor bartender barely able to make her rent - and she even spent time in prison? And, now, we find out her parents are millionaires and high society. Seems a contradiction in the character. Not many money problems when your parents can bail you out at any time.
I've been watching Monk from day one and what they've done to his character is a real shame. He's become a cartoon character, which is what the producers tried to avoid.
I miss Sharona, but I also miss Benji. I miss Monk's funny yet sweet interactions with the kid. The whole Mr. Monk is so cool I wanna take him to show and tell bit. Natalie's daughter is a lot like Natalie: pretty to look at but expendable.
And I agree completely with what someone wrote about how annoying Natalie's "Mr. Monk" call is. Please refer to him as Adrian. Please?
Also--when will we see little examples of Monk's astounding genius again? He knows the answer to Clue, how many marbles are in a jar, how to put the push pins back in the right order after he's completely rearranged them. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

what is with people and sharona? she was so...trashy and ugh. i hated her voice, her hair, her attitude, she was just down right annoying. sure natalie is a push over and she looks really bad with her hair short but she is 20 times better than sharona.
As much as the passing of Stanley Kamel hurts me still, I have always liked Hector Elizondo, so I'm both excited and curious how this is going to be handled.
This show will never, ever jump in my opinion. It's got the terrific writing, awesome acting....just everything! I love this show to death!!!

The USA network has announced that Monk will have a new therapist for season 7, played by Hector Elizondo. At least it won't be a "same character, different actor" jump; they had the decency to say that no one could replace Stanley Kamel and this therapist will be a new character.
i could never understand how anyone could stand sharona. she was a nasally, whiny b*tch who always had an attitude and was constantly putting others down. someone way back in this thread mentioned how she was always looking down on others and he/she is right. she seemed to consider half the people she met as idiots and the other half as twits. every time i picture her face, it's either got a smirk on it or a look of disdain for someone. her attitude was the worst. i'm not a big fan of natalie either, but at least natalie has a decent personality and isn't always belittling people or copping a smarmy attitude.
Words cannot express how much I hate Natalie! Sharona was better. I felt her character was more realistic than Natalie's. She's whiney and just irks the hell out of me. If I hear her say Mr.Monk one more time in her annoying voice I just might go insane. After Sharona left I haven't watched the show. I love Randy but they had made him way too stupid. I love Tony. I think he's a wonderful actor. The plots in th last season were terrible. Monk joins a cult? Come on now! Monk becomes an artist? Not likely. I used to watch this show all the time but not nearly as much. At times I'm just ready for it to be over so that I can watch Psych.
The success of Natalie's relationship with Adrian is the main reason why the show has continued to thrive after the loss of a main character, which could have spelt disaster for the show. I think Traylor has been brilliant in the role (as the ratings have shown) and really brought a new dynamic to the relationship of Monk and his assistant (she's stunning too! ). Long live the Monk!!
Bozo, that is a great idea about J. Katz. At the very least a guest appearance while Monk looks for a new shrink. I can think of a few more actors who would be good in the guest role.
Now if only Traylor Howard would leave.

Hey, Chill Pumpkin Seed. It is only on its (USA Networks) parent station as filler until the other shows come back from the strike. New episodes are coming up on USA.
Now, it is possible that the added exposure it gets on the major networks may drive it to a permanent status there. But that could be good.
