Shark Bytes

They flew over the shark on Pegasus with Season 4. They all but made Chibi-Usa/Rini the main character, relegated the other Sailor Soldiers to background fodder, the antagonists were pathetic compared to The Deathbusters, and they topped it all off with a VERY questionable relationship between Chibi-Usa/Rini and Pegasus. Season 4 killed Sailor Moon for me.

i only watched this show is english..
i loved the first two seasons (R?). i use to watch it everyday before school when i was younger. it actually helped me get up in the morning!

Are you kidding me? You've never watched the show at all, do you? Sailor Moon is in no way a Hentai anime. Also, Usagi isn't a recluse lesbian. Plus the friends that she meets aren't sisters. Plus Mamoru isn't exactly a pedophile as you claimed. Plus Wikipedia? That's where you got your source? LOL!

The show's original name is actually "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon" and it is about an average schoolgirl who is gifted with the soul of a fighter named sailor moon. the schoolgirl turns into a crime fighter and she also turns into a recluse lesbian. She prays to a god to give her her "Sisters" who are also fighters so she won't be lonely. the rest of the story goes: the guy who comes and somehow always finds Sailor Moon after a fight, named Tuxedo Kamen is just a pedophile who thinks he has a chance with Sailor Moon.


I would recommend destroying anything you own related to sailor moon in any way possible.

This show is SO IMMATURE....

Sadly, this show jumped the shark (for me anyway) when they replaced Terri Hawkes (Serena) with Linda Ballantyne starting with the third series. The replacement of Darien's voice actor was annoying as well. This may not offend those who watched the show in other languages, but I prefer the English dub. I do not consider myself an anime aficionado, or even a fan, I just happen to enjoy this show, er.. did.

I grew up with the swedish dub where nothing was changed except for the character's names. R was the best season.

i heard in 2010 sailormoon is gonna air again in an amv magazine

I never understood the nature of the Mary Sues that thought they WERE a part of the Sailor Moon team.
Immature is the only term that comes to mind.

On a more serious note;where in the world is Salior Eris and Ceres and with the IAU decision does it mean Pluto is no longer a part of the team?

Day One

This post is towards the people who grew up watching the English dub:

I laugh at the fact at how some of you diss the English dub, when you all creamed yourselves for it when you were younger... because - first contradiction of yours - IT WAS MADE TO ATTRACT A YOUNGER AUDIENCE. Shocking, huh? None of you wouldn't have even seen the original Japanese version - nor know what a "Sailor Moon" is - had it not been for the English dub. So you should show appreciation for the fact that it introduced you to this wonderful show.

The only problems with the voice acting in the English dub that I ever saw or I felt embarrassed for the voice actor was in S and Super S. They were TERRIBLE. However, in the first season and R, I saw no problem with the majority of them. Quite frankly I think people say it was horrible just to add another insult when jumping on the ORIGINAL SAILOR MOONZ 4 LYFE bandwagon.

Anyway, in my opinion, it never 'jumped.' Sailor Moon is what it is; a group of young heroines fighting evil. And whether or not you're all hating on the English version or not, just remember if it wasn't for THAT dub, you wouldn't be reading this post @ American fans again, just to be clear.

I have to say sailor moon did kind of suck when it hit american televisions sets, with the terrible voice dubbing jobs, and the fact that during the last seasons focused more on mini moon then the famed sailor moon, but i overall enjoy the show, and with rumors accumulating about whats his face doing a live action movie, im sure it will re-gain some speed and maybe someone someday will take the time to fix what they destroyed.

This show rocked no matter what

The show jumped on day one, once it started being translated into English. Some of the voices didn't match the characters, the moral story at the end was useless (at least, to me it was, and still is), and the way they cut out even the slightest of violence was rediculous. Sailor Mars slapped Moon on the face, and it was cut. Lame.

It jumped once again when it came back from a different dub company. Attack names were inconsistant, the voices were, again, terrible, ect. ect.

The entire series itself jumped once it got to the SuperS season. You could tell with that season alone that the animators and script writers were pressed for ideas. Not to mention, the English dub was still horrific to listen to. Stars wasn't much better, taking all previous ideas and smashing them together in one season.

In order to appreciate Sailor Moon for what it is, watch the first three seasons ONLY, and watch them in Japanese with or without the subtitles).

If it had gotten a better dubbing company, or stayed Japanese with subtitles, it'd have never jumped the shark. However, Dic, the 1990's 4Kids got their hands on it...and we all saw the result...

The original is much better than the dubbed version. I really liked the dub when I was younger... but after I saw the original, I realized how awful it really was. Personally, it's still one of my favorites and I don't think it ever JTS.
