I've always really enjoyed Scooby Doo! 
I grew up watching this cartoon. and I also think Casey Kasem did a great job with providing the voice of Shaggy!

Velma, Jusitn. Trust me, my best friend Tracey Turnblad and myself dealt with one. [Ruff and Reddy were my comci adventure icons].
Scrappy was so obnoxious. I stopped watching Scooby Doo when he entered the scene. Or maybe it was because I was getting too old for Scooby at that time.
I have discovered the secrect meaning behind Scooby Doo. You know what it is? Lets examine the evidence.
1. They are a bunch of college age kids that never go to school.
2. They live out of a van with a pysudo-bud leaf on the side called "The Mystery Machine".
3. Shaggy looks like and acts like a stoner who always has the munchies.
4. Fred dresses like a pimp. He is only missing the hat and cane.
5. Daphine is a total slut that always goes off with Fred.
6. Thelma is brains of the whole operation to catch the supposed "Ghost".
7. Scrappy Doo is a crack baby, thats way he is always getting into fights. Scooby Dumb is so stupid because he took far too many drugs.
8. Scooby Doo talks due to the "Scooby Snacks" Which are laced with experimental LSD. Why do you think Shaggy wants them too.
Put it all together, THEY ARE DRUG RUNNERS!!!!
They go around from town to town to drop of drugs and engage in prostitution. The "Ghost" is really the rival drug lord that they are trying to oust. Notice that every character, with the exception of Thelma, aids in the elaborate capture of the ghost. I think that when the capture is going on, she is off making the drug drop. Then they beat it out of town before anybody gets wise. Pretty Crafty don't you think?

you guys need to lay off scrappy he was one of the best charecters on the show

Ah yes, I never missed an episode of this show... till that damn puppy showed up. God should smite the person behind Scrappy Doo. that puppy is in my opinion the only reason that show dropped of the face of the planet for like 15 years. but I will still watch pre scrappy doo shows
Scrappy Doo was a second shark. he show was ruined for me when I saw the first episode, then saw the second episode, and realized they had the same plot.
I grew up watching the original incarnation of the Scooby series. The show jumped with Scrappy. That was the beginning of the end. Nothing Scooby-related after the appearance of Scrappy is worth watching.
The animation was always just passable on the show, but it became even worse after Scrappy's appearance and was completely unwatchable after a point -- it was just too painful to watch what was on the screen. The few production values that the show had completely disappeared and the show just fell apart.
The movies (both animated and live-action) suck. The only Scooby shows worth watching are the pre-Scrappy eps.

hey for those of you old-school scooby doo fans i got great news if you don't own scooby doo where are you? on dvd. for some odd reason, cartoon network is rerunning the show every weekday at 6pm along with what's new scooby doo at 6:30pm. And on saturday afternoons, i think they're still showing the new scooby doo movies which basically came after where are you? as hour-long episodes with guest stars instead of half-hour episodes. man id never thought cartoon network would consider showing a classic or two cuz the other day i saw them show an hour and a half of tom and jerry. NOT the new, corny one they're showing on cw4kids but the original MGM one from like the 40's or 50's so tune in to that if you're a big fan of the famous cat and mouse team. i think they're doing this cuz boomerang stopped rerunning those shows or they probably got a lot of letters from viewers demanding them to show a classic every now and then cuz they can't get boomerang on their cable. If that's the case, then keep writing those letters so i don't have spend like seventy dollars to get a scooby doo where are you dvd set at the mall!!!
