my friend loaned me the first season on dvd and i loved the fact that she was solving crimes yet at the same time there was this one big crime she was trying to solve through out the season. i was hooked i got my husband to like it. then i found out they cut it and i was mad
The show was just way to intelligent & integer for an average american audience as putting the focus on season 1 & 2. Whereas season 3 was already going in the direction of compromising to attract a greater audiences by dummbing down the plots and storylines. In my own humble opinion that is at most the Nr.1 reason why the show never really lifted off the ground. On the other hand, when you take a (not even to close) look on TV history down the line - intelligence, integrity and higher level performnace almost never have been properly rewarded by audiences at large. Give the crowd a piece of crap instead and eventually, 8 out of 10, they'll swallow it with hook, line, sinker, float, fishing rod and fisher!
The show didn't jump until the very last episode. I hated the ended, but I think the creators were hoping to bring it back. I still hope they do.
Veronica Mars was doomed from day one. It's wry wit, sharp satire, and mythical plot evolution was better suited for adult networks like HBO, and Showtime. UPN and the CW attract an impatient, materialistic and ultimately clueless audience.
I loved this show and was livid when it was canclled by the CW without the show being able to wrap things up.
I think a huge mistake was that is season 3 two new characters were added as regulars ( Piz and Julie i think her name was ). Also Weevil didn't get as much airtime as was deserved.
But the orginal premis of the show was lost ( Veronica best friend was killed, who really did it ?). I was disappointed to find out that on the season 3 dvd's there was no Veronica Mars FBI ( as many people speculated there would be ) to show what has become of Veronica, Logan, and others 4 years down the road.
this show really ticks me off it sucks and i hate it
Veronica Mars, to it's credit, was undone by the growth of the main characters. Veronica's heavy convictions and intellectual nature mandate that the she grows up. By season 2, she's no longer an underdog. By season 3 her spunky/jaded dichotomy has given way to an affected college girl mellowness. Episode by episode the characters become unrecognizable from the archetypes they originated as. The show's unique appeal became diluted and indistinct from common soap operas. There are plenty of examples (isolated black nerd becomes basketball star) but the worst violation was taking a perfectly good shallow, rich jerk (Casablancas) and turning him into a weepy shell of a man. Yikes. What's next in season 4: Dick struggles with his orientation in episode 2, comes out in episode 6 and is victim to a hate crime providing Veronica her crime-du-jour in episode 8? Unrealistic? Maybe not. Bad television? Yes I think so.

In summary, the shark jump happened at the end of 2, although the episode Postgame Mortem helped me through a rough break-up so season 3 isn't all bad.
I just think they could have done season 3 a little better. I didn't like how they did weevil's character. They turned him into a janitor just to keep him in the show. I think they should have started with him in jail and then getting out or whatever.
I found Season3 better than Season 2. In the Season 2 finale, they just brought it on and expected us to completely believe this huge anvil they dropped. At least with the Season 1 finale, we got some slight hints with Aaron having cheated. But there was no clue to connect Beaver (sorry, Cassidy- who was a great character before that).
Season 3 was pretty good except for the fact that Veronica had made a sex tape. I liked Piz, but that was a bit weird.
Veronica Mars was cancelled because CW wanted this show kicked off and put it beside one of TV's biggest hits- way to be oblivious, CW!
This was a really great show and just never got the ratings it severely deserved, unlike the Pussycat Dolls show.
Dick Casablancas ruled! I loved this show.
i think that as much as i will always love this show, if i had to pick the jumping point it will be season three--not because of the creators, but because of the unreal pressure placed upon it by the cw.

it was placed in a fickle timeslot, that kept changing, it would dissappear randomly without warning and no one knew what week it would be back. they even broke apart the original rhythm--the season arc mystery was the best part of the series, it gave you something to work for. the rape story was alright, but dean odells murder was lackluster, and by the end the individual episodes made it impossible for new viewers to become truly invested...

placing it against american idol, without proper advertising, and losing the support of the established fanbase with ridiculous changes hung veronica out to dry--she was murdered.
baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadddddd show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This show sucked so bad. You had to have the attention span of Mr. Miyagi to enjoy it or even understand what was going on. The network tried to push it down our throats, tried to make us like it so very very badly and it still didn't work.

The best episode was the one with the teacher who serially hit on female students.
ew depressing an disturbing emo show
I can not believe people blame this shows unpopularity on the CW's bad advertising and America's unintelligance! Denial much! This show sucked!
