Never Jumped
Death (Stringer Bell)
Omar the gay superhero
The second season
Hamsterdam
Shark Bytes
This was absolutely one of the top five greatest shows of all time........
....until season 5. What happened? All of the characters changed. They were complete betrayals of their former selves. They did things that didn't make any sense. The newspaper plotline was tedious. Omar's death was very poorly done. The final montage was also incredibly hamhanded and Hollywood-like. The faked homeless murder plotline was incredibly absurd.
This was not the show I had watched the previous four seasons. I really wish I hadn't watched season 5.

I don't think this show jumped at all... However, the second season was as great compared to the others. I do agree though that Omar's death almost made it jump but it all came together at the end.
This show jumps the shark every time that you are dragged out to some Tai restuarant with a bunch of know-it-all's that insist that it is "The Most Perfect Show Ever".....
Bubbles should have been killed in season 3, it was a waste of time to keep him around in season 4 & 5.
Awesome, awesome show. Seeing how politicians, cops, and drug dealers screw each other over in such similar ways is eye-opening, and a little scary. Some of the acting is weak, though; the guy who plays Daniels is too theatric, and the woman who plays Atty. Pearlman just raises and lowers her eyebrows.
Never Jumped. Each season took a different viewpoint of inne city life. It was beautifully unsentimental. As much as I wished Omar didn't get killed the way in which he did was perfectly anticlimatic.
It ever jumped at all, it is what it is. And I will dare to say it. I though it was better then the Sapranos. There I said it, LOL
"This show jumped, when Omar was killed. It was the worst death I could imagine. Some no-name kid, shoots him in the back of the head. Such a dynamic character, deserved a BETTER DEATH!

Kid had a name (Kenard) and was shown through 3 seasons. Remember the shootout where Omar's boy shot one of their own crew? When Bunk was investigating Kenard was the little boy shouting "my turn to be Omar." Then he was a bit of a regular in season 4 (he was the kid who stole from Namond who got beat by Michael) and was around in the background of season 5... I thinkht Omar's death was one of the few things done right in season 5.

Jumped when McNulty and Freamon began faking the serial killer. Through the fourth season it was the best show on television. In the fifth season the plot felt highly contrived and the character development plummeted-the old characters (especially police) were mishandled while the new characters (primarily the journalists) lacked any depth whatsoever.
Living in Baltimore.this show was so closly based on current and passed events that have happened in our city, its like reading a newspaper. I will miss it. And I will never go up town again!
It's been some months now and I still can't get over the show ending. The reason why I kept HBO (OZ was the reason why I got HBO) By far the realest and best show of the twenty-first century. Snoop disturbed the #*$@ out of me, and yet for some reason I wanted to bang her...omg..am I gay?
Never jumped...simply the best written, directed, and acted show ever to be on TV. Incredible, especially since it actually made people think about urban povery and social policy...not exactly the highlights of most TV shows. Even Season 2 (which wasn't that good except for the last 2 episodes) and the formulaic 'godfather' like character,The Greek, are better than most shows can offer. We miss you on TV David Simon...
Easily the best show ever in the history of television. The most unbelievably well-written, acted, realistic show ever. Season 4 was the best season, but season 5 was still a great last season. Truly sad that the Wire is nearly universally praised by its viewers and yet it still doesn't get anywhere NEAR the fanfare and recognition that it deserves. But when the #1 show is Dancing with the Stars, how could we possibly expect the masses to watch an extremely deep and intelligent show like the Wire?
