Sharon Osborne was a much needed change for the show -- Brandy was just an obnoxious celebrity that wouldn't know talent if it bit her on the nose. Jerry Springer is also a great improvement over Regis' high-pitched hyper excretions. JS leaves the sleaze at the door when he steps onto the stage at AGT. Yes, they seriously need to get rid of the constant 'comment' shots of him watching the performances -- that is completely annoying. But he is a good emcee overall.

I agree with the person who made the observation that singing is a talent. The singers that are on AGT would never get on AI simply because most of them are either over or under the age limit, or sing in a style that AI won't exploit. Just because you sing well doesn't make you an automatic candidate for AI...and there's room on AGT for a lot of different types of talent.

The one huge change that I wish they would make to AGT is to get rid of Hasselhoff. He is one of the most annoying celebrities to ever grace a TV screen. He needs to go away.

Yeah springer does come across as a real sleaze its funny this is a Simon Cowell production him and Piers Morgan are on the panel for the U.K. version and it's almost identical even down to the acts.

Its real sick how the men perv over some of the jail bait that come on the show!!!

I knew this show was attracting sharks when this guy called the human action figure or something like that attempted to jump over some chairs and knocked himself out I felt sorry for the guy cos he did'nt see what I saw Jerry Springer slipping a shark a browm envelope.

I agree with the critisizm of Jerry Springer. Why is he on this show? He brings nothing but a sleazy reputation to the show. I am sick of the camera constantly diverging from the main act, to Springer preteding to care, then the audience, then the judges, then (after missing 10 seconds of thre act) they show the act for 5 more seconds, then go back to cameos from Springer again. It is maddening. We want to watch the talent, not the onlookers. This is discusting. It is amateurish and embarrasing. I am also tired of Hasselhoffs obvious lust anytime a scantilly clad woman comes on stage. You can almost hear his jeans buttons popping. He gets this nauseating lustful smirk on his face everytime. Ewww. All in all, this show sucks big time. Get rid of Springer, he is a distraction. And I agree he has a really ugly nose too, lol.

This is the Springer show, not a talent show. That ugly hook nosed scum gets like 40 cameos per show. I am sick of this homely cuccumber nosed creep acting like he cares. What a phoney.

okay listen, the show jumped the shark when sharon replaced brandy as a judge. all sharon ever does is say yes to every single contestant good or bad. she is too nice. i like jerry as the host but i would prefer season one's host. i think it was regis. also ever since season two, there have been nothing but fans who wanted to get on t.v. after they saw season 1. season 1 was full of talent and the rest seasons saw people who just wanted a shot but knew they wouldn't win.

First of all love this show, second of all singing is a talent. Third of all for all of you who want to say all the singers should go over to American Idol, I got news for you not all singers are welcomed over at Idol, to even be auditoned for idol you have to be between the ages of 18 and 27 anyone younger or older can forget it. Perhaps that's one of the reason's I have never really liked Idol and never got into it, because I felt that they were letting alot of talent get through their fingers. Case and point to the person who wanted to talk about the dance troop who won that other reality show (sorry never saw it) when CBS revived Star Search a few years back that guy who won the male vocalist category during the first season was very talented not only could he sing but he was an accomplish piano player, but guess what he made it clear his first week while competing on Star Search that he wanted to try out for AI but was rejected because he was a year older then their cut off age, I think if any show has JTS it Idol for having blatant age discrimmination. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why Simon Cowell did America's got Talent, to put no age limit on the talent, after all Cass Haeley would obviously never been allowed to audition for AI, and neither would Julienne Irwin, but they could go on America's got Talent which has no age limit, so far this season we have seen acts ranging in age 4 to 80, which says something. As for those horrid Romanian Twins, I seriously believe that if they had come later in the auditons they would never had got through, but because at that point they were desparate for acts they let them in, but I don't think they will last very long.

This show lost any and all credibility when the JabbaWockeeZ won America's Best Dance Crew. Here was a group that auditioned for America's Got Talent twice, failed to win and after winning America's Best Dance Crew, they've maintained a visibility that Bianca Ryan and Terry Fator (despite his success that America's Got Talent wants to brag about all too eagerly) can only envy.

And I feel like I'm the only person who realizes that America's Got Talent came before all the other Got Talent shows. This show isn't the American copy of Pop Idol, people!

The blacks in the audience screaming and doing the "move along" hand-shuffle thing as if its Showtime at the Apollo, or whatever the hell that show is. I'll pass.

Here's my two cents about yesterday's show. There were a lot of good acts and it showed that many the contestants really worked hard. Jerry was his usual annoying self and the audience also seemed to be really into it. The acts I would like to see gone are the singing, freeloading twin sisters from Romania. They were horribly off-key and the fact that Sharon was lax on her buzzer didn't help much. My biggest pet peeve are those who redefine the word "classy" and those young mothers and their exotic dancing is no exception. The one I really couldn't stand was the cross-dressing Britney Spears impersonator. As much as I hate the former pop princess, watching him made me feel sick. Hopefully, he won't get too far. Other than that, I think we may have some stiff competition for this show in the future. My favorite acts so far Nuttin' But Strings, the trombone-playing dancer, and the opera singer. Can't wait until next week's show; this show has a lot going so far!

emotional contestants.

Smother it with rancid treacle.

Add a side order of flies.

Hold your nose and shovel it down your gullet.

You know, I didnt think this show could get much worse after last season...........I was wrong. Now, I expected the fake/forced reactions from Jerry Springer and the obviously forced reactions from the audience, but the thing that pushed it over the top for me was the fact that the head honchos (one being Simon Cowell) are basically giving us Britains Got Talent, but with American "flair". If I wanted to see Piers judging someone singing Nessun Dorma (opera) I would Youtube Paul Potts. If I wanted to see a little girl sing on stage, I would Youtube Connie Talbot. And guess what? Nearly identical singers (though neither were as good as their British counterparts) were on tonights premiere. Its one thing to take a show into the US from the UK and reformat it. Its complete crap to show nearly IDENTICAL acts.

(And no, before yells to me about being from the UK, I am a US citizen. I just think they could have tried a little harder to not copy)

i think they tell about the contestant's stories because it is always nice to show some compassion. some of them really had intense backgrounds and stories to tell, and it just makes the audience feel more emotionally involved. thats why i like this show and i definetly cant wait for the premiere tomorrow at 9!

i just loved watching season two of America's Got Talent and i'm definetly tuning in to watch the season 3 premiere next tuesday. i am really excited!

Holy crap. Last year, this show jumped the shark, over the mountains and through the woods. It became a bigger joke than the year before it, a true low point to reality TV, next to the Real Gilligan's Island and that FOX show where that girl had to choose who was her real father.

Anyone on this show that had ANY talent was rejected or voted off and WAS DEFINITELY NOT judging it, that's for sure.

I'm not watching it this year.
