The Animaniacs was a cartoon show that just broke the 4th wall. Even if they were forced to teach something they tried their best to make due with it. All the stuff in the shows still work. Ya some things were censored but what did the show did? They made a cartoon WITH networks rep's trying to force them to make a cutey cartoon. Rather than the slap stick comedy that they do. They NEVER jumped the shark. Nothing majorly new was put in. They made a group and stayed with them. No major new characters, no major new settings, it was the solid group of people we knew. Lot's of singing and the Warner Brother and Sister basically stayed the same in how they acted. Heck I think even the movie did well.
I will say when it was forced to become educational. although some of those songs they do are good, it just seemed to take away from the no direction of the show, other than that i dont think it ever jumped
good show. I'd love to see it again over shows such as "Chowder", "Spongebob Squarepants", and some bum show, uh what, umm? "Johnny Test"? "Animaniacs" proves that cartoons today aren't worth much. Formerly known as "guest", call me Tha Critic.
Okay hold on a sec. you see that really long comment on page four. I'm not speaking for anamaniacs even though I love it so but I'm going to point something out. It's people like this that make me sick. This person is not crazy or deranged for all such reasons like not enjoying anamaniacs or the 90's. But for rejecting and pummelling peoples joy from this show. This person is obviously in a bad mood and can't even bear to let out a chuckle at slight humor found on any cartoon. As for jumping the shark? It didn't. there are many times where it avoided the shark and we didn't notice. The reason it was cancelled is because a new generation of cartoon artists came along with the new century and apparently these classic cartoons didn't fit their taste so now children must engage in stupidity such as spongebob. On a shorter note: Avatar: the last good show on nick.
Animaniacs could fit fine with today's humor. it is just like Family Guy or American Dad or even the comedian Cathy Griffin but aimed at a younger crowd with much didactic clips. My guess, it it that it was ahead of its time.
I loved Elmira, The Pinky and the Brain, but hated chicken Boo. There was something for everyone... very clever! I CAN"T WAIT FOR A COME BACK!!

Wait! Don't bring it back! Here me out...
I loved this show too, but if it's brought back, there is an excellent chance that the jump will happen. Right now, it hasn't jumped the shark. Let's keep it that way. Many sharks are jumped because a show is brought back.

I completely agree with most of the statements here: Bring this show back, damnit! It was a classic. My favorite episode: Hot Bothered and Bedeviled. Who wouldn't think that the Warners in Hades wouldn't be funny? Let this generation see what they're missing out on, instead of this crap that is poisoning our children's minds. I used to come home every day and watch this, Earthworm Jim and then Freakazoid all in a row. Bring it back!
The show never jumped, though it did come close on occasions. (Wakko's Wish, anyone?)
I admit, I don't really remember this show very well (I did watch it, but not very often), and most of my knowledge came from watching clips on Youtube, but still. I can see how some parts could be considered annoying (The Warner siblings got on my nerves at times), the pop culture references sometimes felt very, very forced, and Buttons and Mindy was just plain terrible, but I'm absolutely astonished by how witty this show was at times, with their spot-on translations of Shakespeare works and innuendo so clever and subtle that jokes like "finger-Prince" and "PIANIST!" made it past the censors.
And the songs? Usually I hate singing in cartoons, but these songs were catchy, brilliantly written, and just plain awesome. They were educational, but in a very enjoyable way.
Also: The episode Woodstock Slappy had a reference to my favorite band of all time. (Yes) That automatically gives them points in my eyes.
It never jumped. It could have if it was never canceled, but through its lifetime, it never did.

It jumped when I saw Dot for the first time. She is the definition of "cute but ugly". I loved Tiny Toon Adventures because Babs and Fifi were hot. I couldn't find anything hot about Dot.
The show made up for Dot's cute ugliness and jumped back to the good side with Minerva Mink and the Good Idea Bad Idea stuff.

Animaniacs NEVER JUMPED THE SHARK. This is better than the junk thats on T.V. right now. Shoot, I rather watch this than brainless stupid cartoons.
it didn't ever jump, the making fun of cartoons, looney tunes cameos, the hidden adult jokes, the pop culutre references (sadly, now most of which are null and void), the running gags never got old (hellooooooooooooooooooo nurse, etc.).
The things that did hurt though- 1-minerva mink being unfairly dumped due to her inneudo, 2-pinky, elmira and the brain, 3-katy kaboom.

Yeah its too bad they won't put it back on air. I'm an 18 year old teen now and watched animaniacs back when i was 3 and until it stopped airing here. If there's any show they should bring back its animaniacs. The early 90's stuff was the only good cartoon stuff. I love this line from dot and then wakko right after
Dot " And whats so special about it?"
Wakko" I'm Not wearing any pants!"
