i stopped watching out of disinterest and now all the records are off my DVr (cox cables version of what TIVO is)
yeah they just announced not too long ago that aliens in america won't be coming back for 08-09. I agree basically with everybody else on the creator coming up with a REALLY good premise for a comedy, but it probably would've served well as a movie rather than a weekly television series. The show supposed to focus on Raja's culture versus his foreign exchange family's, it was right at that point for a couple of episodes, but once it got near the end of the season, it started focusing more on the tolchuks and a little less on raja so yeah, the show would've been pretty hard to understand if it came back for a second season. A lot of critics gave it good reviews as it did with reaper, another CW show, but i guess the audience didn't rave as much looking at the ratings which lead to aliens abrupt cancellation. The cast did a wonderful job trying to keep the show on its feet though!
i think it has tooooo much highschool dram and they go too far! Now its always about raja and justin fighting...its going no where. the first episode was hillarius but it stopped after. Its never about Raja now! Its supposed to be about him being a muslim and everyone learning about muslims. they do exageate with the whole raja being a muslim though. espicially in the beginnig when he was like "thank u Allah! For the Tolchucks!" im muslim, i laughed at that. exagerating is funny but they just dont make it funny. everybody hates chris, THEIR exsagerating is funny. aliens in america will cancel soon, at lest i hpe so. lol
I watched the first episode and it was pretty good, but after that it was just terrible. It's a good show idea, but it goes nowhere. It's just the same crappy, culture shock jokes taking a place in a generic type of high school that doesn't actually exist anywhere in the U.S. Despite what every TV show and movie thinks (mostly the bad ones), high schools are nothing like this.
I watched the first episode, and I thought it was so ridiculous. People arent THAT prejiduce."OMG A INDIAN GUY, HE WEARS WIERD CLOTHES" We arent that intolerant.

Unbeleivable, and not loveble
I think this show is the best on t.v.

I know it has been done before.

The Wonder Years,That 70's show,Doogie Houser M.D. ect ect.

All those shows have the same thing in common one DORK his life=good t.v.

I like this show and I hope it has a great and long run on t.v.

Plus I think Raj is cute ^_^
I watched the first episode, but gave up after that. The show was just too derivative. The life-of-a-teenage-loser format has been done before, but much better. The central premise of the show is an old cliche that should be retired, or maybe turned into a new JTS category. A group, in this case a family, of middle class white people find that a magic old person/black person/handicapped person/muslim person/space alien is now part of their lives. This magic whatever will open their eyes and minds and teach them all to be better, more tolerant, happy people. And vote for democrats. The only time that format holds my interest is when it's a late night Cinemax movie with a magic hot babe who teaches everyone how to have great sex.
Snl's Not Ready for Prime Time Players did this with the Coneheads.
