Making the Band has turned into Making a Hip-Hop group these days. Please change the damn name if that's how it's going to be. More like making more talentless rap stars as if we don't have enough of them already.

I think the second they threw P.Daddy (I'm going to call him that because Diddy is stupid) in they just turned the format around. I too, thought that this was going to be band tryout sessions. But instead what we got is that several people are lined up and asked questions like "Can you rhyme?" "Do you have a street attitude" "What alias can we call you under?".

What the hell is that? That isn't band-like questions. This world revolves around Hip-Hop so much it's sick. Some of you might not know what I'm talking about here. But everytime I catch an episode of this while channel surfing, this is all I practically see.

So P.Daddy screwed it all up, thanks MTV once again. For screwing up another show that may have potential of being good.
haha the best episode of this show was the chapelle show version that was so effen funny lol
I dont watch the show, where did they got o get the cheesecake? What's the name of the place?
This show jumped when somebody thought P. Diddy knew enough about music to make a band.

He knows a lot about the music industry, but listen to his songs. He knows nothing about music.
What KIND OF Cheesecake was it!!!!?????
What flavor!?
Okay, when I first heard of this show, I thought it would be like actually making a band, like holding tryouts for a bass player, guitar player, singer, etc., but this is just terrible. What's the deal, the bands just breakup the minute the shows' season is over, this show is just yet another lame MTV show that has little to nothing to do with music.
I dislike this show. It's boring and while the premise is like a real-life "Fame" show, it lacks depth. The sad truth is that even when the band is created it's not likely that the band will survive for any length of time, in terms, of renaming as a band because look at O'Town. The group was just around 6 years ago and have since disbanded. The sad reality is that this show creates the notion that it's possible that if you "make the band" and play your cards right, then you might not only become famous, but remain famous. Bottom lone: While, they may argue that they tell these young hopefuls that fame is fleeting, it still creates the myth that they can somehow remain famous. The best advice is to give to anyone that "makes the band" is for them to invest their money wisely in authentic Monet, Manet, Renoir, and other well-noted designers as well as invested their money in companies that may yield high dividends. Of course I'm not a financial advisor, but that's personally how I would handle my fame and money if I were super-rich and famous. The last thing you want to do is spend tons of money on cars, clothes, and other things that tend to depreciate over time.
When this show originally aired with O-Town, I'm the poster who said they should leave the show on forever, even after the band tanks and these ass-clowns are working at Burger King or digging ditches. It was a funny post, but I didn't think that MTV would actually DO it. Now, we have "There and Back", with Ashley Angel. He's broke, living with his knocked-up girlfriend and her mother. If this wasn't good enough, we actually see his ex-Otowners in their misery as well. My wildest dreams came true on the episode where Ashley goes to a temp agency and is told his only real skill would be to dress up like a chicken and wave a sign at passing traffic in front of a KFC. So, he calls up former head ass-clown, Jacob, to get a job with him working construction where he gets to pick up trash and dig ditches. Ladies and gentlemen, fairytales do come true...
There was one straight guy and it was funny to watch him try to keep a straight face and act like lip syncing to some sappy love song while doing a dance routine ripped off from the Laker Girls isn't gay. Once the show was down to only boys who were more concerned with how their hair was highlighted and permed you couldn't even watch this show with the sound off.
First off let me address the previous MTB with O Town I forgot which one it was but remember the one that decided he wanted to be the "BAD ASS' and wear is hair in dreadlocks? THEN decided that the music they were "producing" wasn't up to his standards b/c NOW he felt he was into soul music. DUDE YOU CHOSE TO JOIN A BOY BAND FOR GOD SAKES GET OVER YOURSELF. I laughed so hard at this I couldn't contain myself. Now back to the latest round of MTB2 I swear to God as previous posters stated what a bunch ungrateful lazy asses. While I'm no Puff Daddy fan give the devil his do, the man knows what he is doing being a ring leader in setting this idiots up. Babs (MY Hair aint done) Frederick (rather stay in that crap hole of a town than make something of himself) However what really got me was when Sara stated that her voice was a "Gift From God" WHAAAA? sweetie your no Alicia Keys I'm just mad as hell now that I don't have cable to watch this mess. I heard 2 members got booted of the show. Anyone ?
Making the Band, ha! What a scream! So who was featured on there? One band? O*Town. Not as though I expected them to "make" a band with any creative abilities whatsoever, it's MTV. Some weepy little boys were all desperate enough to unite with strangers just to go "I'm a boy band member! I'm tough! I can't get a job elsewhere, cause I'm a twenty-something year old loser who needs to get laid! Not even my fraternity takes me seriously!". OK, and second of all, O*Town IS NOT A BAND! They do not play their own instruments! They cannot be credited, not even as a group! It must be nice, recording with echo chambers and that nice ol' synthesized sound. They made, what, 2 songs that were hits and nobody knows or cares what they're doing now since the last hit they've made was when I was in 6th grade, so let's see here...Hmmm, I'm in 10th now...that'd be 4 YEARS! I also like the "mature" approach of talking about wet dreams, which really throws you for a loop, since only lonely adolescent males get them, but they're all like of legal drinking age. I think it's so funny how that band failed, but that's what happens if you're on a whim and you're an inexperienced metrosexual/closet queen that MTV manufactures.
"Making the Band" jumped the shark from day one. It is so obvious that the people who audition for these crappy groups are just looking for their 15 minutes of fame. And if the break up of O-Town is any indication, P.Diddy's manufactured hip hop group will be following suit. Da Band's first album barely went gold. Do you think that people are going to buy their next album? Ask the former members of O-Town when they put out their second (horrific) album. MTV has become a joke. They don't make careers. They just exploit people for their own personal gain.
"Daddy's Home!!!!!" Gosh, I cannot STAND Sean "Puffy" Combs!!!! His arrogance is so repulsive to me. I don't care how much money someone has, arrogance is NOT the way. And I am severely disturbed whenever I see Bentley holding an umbrella over his head. What are you, his first maiden??? Get outta here. the show is good for a laugh. I don't really dig the band like that. They performed at my school in October, and I wasn't impressed. But the show gives me something to do at 10pm on Thursday nights.
David Letterman still has the classic line for "P Diddy" or "Puff Daddy". Letterman called him the "artist formally known as guilty".
THE BEST THING ON MTV SINCE "BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD"!!! Chopper is the JIVEST person in the history of television! He makes Jimmie Walker look like John Houseman! If P Didd humiliated me by making me walk for three hours to get his cheesecake, I'd spit on it before I gave it to him. And how the hell does P Diddy pass himself off as a fashion guru? All he does is wear 70's baseball jerseys! WHAT A DORK! P Didd went out and got these JAMFs (Jive A$$ M****r F****rs) so he could learn what street cred is.
